Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL), a Mini-Ratna-I Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, has invited online applications for 13 Executive Trainee posts in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines. MECL Executive Trainee Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the MECL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 must meet the educational qualification and age limit given below, and must also have cleared the written round of UPSC ESE 2024, appeared for the ESE 2024 interview, and consented to sharing their score information on UPSC's website, without having been recommended for final selection.

Selected candidates will be placed as Executive Trainees during a one-year training period at an initial Basic Pay of ₹40,000 per month in the E-1 (IDA) pay scale of ₹40,000–₹1,40,000, along with applicable Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA). In addition to Basic Pay and IDA, the posts carry other benefits including:

MECL Executive Trainee Application Fee

An application registration fee of ₹500 is applicable for General/OBC/EWS candidates. The fee is not applicable for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen/Departmental candidates. Payment must be made online through Net-Banking or a QR code hosted on the MECL website under the Careers section. The fee, once paid, is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other examination or selection.

MECL Executive Trainee Selection Process

The MECL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 selection process is based entirely on the UPSC ESE 2024 score, with no separate written examination or personal interview conducted by MECL:

1. Applicant lists will be prepared in decreasing order of marks (out of 1200) scored in UPSC ESE 2024, category-wise, for the Mechanical/Electrical discipline.
2. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on the UPSC ESE 2024 score and other eligibility criteria, as per MECL's extant Recruitment Rules.
3. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Document Verification round.
4. If documents are found suitable and matching the advertisement criteria, offers of employment will be issued.

In case of a tie in total UPSC ESE 2024 score, seniority in age (as per Matriculation certificate) will be considered first, followed by a higher aggregate percentage in the essential engineering degree.

MECL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026: Important Instructions

• Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
• Selected candidates will undergo one year of training and may be posted at any MECL Project/Office/Establishment in India.
• The appointee will be on probation for one year, extendable by up to one further year at the discretion of the Appointing Authority.
• Executives/Executive Trainees must serve a minimum of 36 months after joining; a retention deduction of ₹5,000 per month will be made from salary, refundable (without interest) on completion of 36 months' service.
• A service bond of ₹1.8 lakh must be executed to serve the company for a minimum of 36 months.
• Appointment is subject to the candidate being declared medically fit by a Government Medical Officer/CMO of a Government Hospital, covering parameters such as vision, hearing, cardiovascular health, and more.
• Category certificates must be valid as of the crucial date (01.08.2026); UPSC ESE 2024 category status does not automatically apply to MECL's process.
• Candidates working in Central/State Government, PSUs, autonomous bodies, or nationalized banks must apply through proper channel or furnish a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of document verification.
